Like so many travelers the day before Thanksgiving, we hit the road headed south to my father's place in Jacksonville. We were ready to eat some turkey in the warmth and sunny weather. The morning of Thanksgiving we prepared a few sides and packed up the motorhome for a little camping adventure. We were headed to the beach, not really to swim, but to go camping and enjoy the holiday.
Gavin very sweetly volunteered to let Logan be the first one to ride up front with Papa. The boys loved riding up front and looking out the big RV windows.

I kicked everyone out of the RV while I got to work on the feast. The kitchen is only made for one chef! The big boys got their fishing poles out while the little boys played in the sand behind them. While prepping and cooking at the stove, I could glance out the window and watch my family enjoy themselves. Truly is was a moment of pure gratitude. We had turkey, rolls, dressing, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin cobbler for dessert. I will not reveal how much was store-made vs. homemade, but the meal was delicious nevertheless and I have no shame. The roles then reversed and I sat by the water making the traditional holiday phone calls while the boys cleaned up the dishes and dinner. The day was beautifully simple.
