Orlando, Florida: Day Three, Animal Kingdom

Like most others when Animal Kingdom first opens, we made a beeline for the Kilimanjaro Safari.  The animals are most active in the morning and that Thursday was no different.  It was another beautiful day weather-wise and the crowds were still minimal.  We had our first character dining experience as a family at the Tusker House Restaurant!  We dined with Donald, Daisy, Mickey, and Goofy all in their Safari apparel.  Daisy was by far the most friendly and even came to our table twice because she liked Logan so much. The Tusker House specialized in African and American dishes, so Sean enjoyed similar foods he ate while serving his LDS church mission in South Africa before we got married.

Animal Kingdom has more entertainment than attractions, but we still filled our day with lots of fun.  Here is the rundown: Kilimanjaro Safari, Pangani Forest Exploration Trail, Wildlife Express Train to Rafiki's Planet Watch, found the cheapest popcorn at Disney, Finding Nemo-The Musical, Sean quickly rode Expedition Everest, Flights of Wonder bird show, character lunch at the Tusker House, Kilimanjaro Safari again, Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade, and the Festival of the Lion King.

During the Flight of Wonder bird show, they asked for a volunteer with a camera to come up on stage for a close-up shot.  Raising my camera high in the air like we were asked to volunteer, I was chosen and experienced an owl flying directly at me from the rear of the show.  It was pretty wild.

That night we had a surprise visitor swing by our hotel room.
Find out on day four who it was!
