Happy belated Thanksgiving everyone! It was a blissful day filled with the traditions of family (near and far) and home. All our photographers were busy cooking, chopping, stirring, and entertaining children so we have little to show for the day. Away from both mothers this year, all the cooking fell upon our shoulders. Sean cooked a delicious turkey that probably set the bar too high as now he will be required to cook all our future Thanksgiving turkeys. My father picked fresh green beans from his garden that morning for a simply scrumptious dish. And my greatest contribution had to be a divine pumpkin cobbler. My father and I hate pumpkin and yet our bowls were licked clean. I believe Sean's words were 'greatest thing you have made, ever. I think I even like this better than cheesecake.' If you know Sean and cheesecake, you know this dish had to be good. Regardless, our bellies and hearts are still full. And to rub it in for our cold climate family, we were planning on eating outside but 87 degrees was just too warm to do that.
And to complete the post with a picture, Gavin is demonstrating the effects of what overeating and turkey can do to you. However this picture was taken a few days prior to the holiday.
