The boys and I surprised our Utah family with a visit for the next week. It was great to see family we had been missing. But to get there, the boys and I had to fly 5.5 hours on a plane. I will be the first to admit traveling by yourself with an infant and toddler is exhausting. However we had no meltdowns, tantrums, or even crankiness so I cannot complain too much. And I even heard the words every mother loves to hear after a flight, 'I had no idea there was a baby behind me.'
Now for the video. We had a stop in Denver but did not have to change plans. We were in the back of the plane so with the chance we moved up to row two. The cockpit door happened to be open so Gavin yelled 'Hello up there' as we were walking up the aisle. The First Officer leaned over and replied 'Hello back there. Come on up.' So what was a boy to do! Gavin sat himself right down in the Captain's chair and made himself at home. Apparently once the plane is docked at the airport the buttons go inactive so Gavin could happily touch anything. The boy was in heaven!
As we were taxiing to the runway, First Officer Doug announced the weather, flight time, and that Captain Gavin double checked all the instruments. No one knew what he was talking about but one very happy, lucky boy did. Gavin was so happy to hear his name over the intercom. Some boys just get all the luck!
That is pretty dang cool! I'm pretty sure Delson would love that! Awesome. I'm glad your flight went so well for that long with 2 little ones, but I kinda hate you too. My kids throw tantrums and are whiny like all day long just when we are at home, so I don't know what is wrong with your kids, but you are really LUCKY!!! I hope you have the same experience on your way home. Miss you! Have fun in Utah!
