The morning after Gavin's birthday party we woke up the kids bright and early to drive south to Orlando. We decided to take advantage of the Memorial Weekend and take a holiday. On a last minute decision Sean decided to take all of Thursday off from work which allowed us to arrive in Orlando five hours earlier. This meant we had time for pit stops, hotel pool, and Downtown Disney fun.
On the road about noon and 100 miles away, Sean and I joked that it would be great to eat lunch in Gainesville. It's hard to believe that one year ago we were still living in Gainesville albeit about to say goodbye. We loved our time there with so many great friends, great food, and great family trips. Oh yeah and there was a master's degree earned somewhere in between all that. We pushed ourselves until 1:45pm to finally eat lunch at our favorite Burrito Brothers directly across from campus. The boys wanted to eat at a place with a playground but you can't get Burrito Brothers in Peachtree City. We had a handful of people we wanted to surprise visit too but spent approximately 20 minutes in town just to eat. Sadly, our surprise visits will have to wait.
Finally off to bed for a birthday and a trip to SeaWorld awaited us in the morning!

When we finally made it to the hotel, the excitement from the boys was spewing out their ears. When we lived in Gainesville, we spent a lot of time at Disney and loved it. But this time in Orlando, we decided to mix things up and try out SeaWorld. We even scored a hotel deal that was connected to SeaWorld which gave us a tons of perks to the park. Gavin was so excited to see the park right outside our window.
A quick stop to the pool, of course.
Next was dinner at the Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney. This sandwich shop is just about THE BEST SANDWICH in America. And I do not think I communicated that point clear enough. This place is rated number three out of close to 1,500 restaurants in all of Orlando.
A little fun in the Disney shop!
And a little fun at the Lego shop!

You are so brave! I'm glad your kids cooperate so well so that you can take nice weekend trips like that. A yummy sandwich like that sounds good right now.
