At the end of January, my mother had a quick, two-day conference in Clearwater. She extended her visit to Florida before and after her business meetings, so we were able to play with grandma a whole week. The boys and I even tagged along for the conference since her hotel was right on the water. It was a real tough decision whether or not to go.
I would like to say our first day went perfectly as planned. However after a rough night and achy children, I took the boys to an instant care in Tampa. I had my suspensions that Gavin had an ear infection, and sure enough he had a double. I had the doctor do a quick check of Logan's ears for kicks and only one was infected. Somehow I need to train my children to stop getting ear infections when we travel.
After the instant care, a giant nap in the hotel room and reuniting with my mom, we finally made it to the beach before dinner. It's amazing how the beach can always bring out a smile-even when you have an ear infection.
