Mickey's Marathon: Gavin's Race

When signing up for my race, we stumbled upon a race just for Gavin within the Mickey's Marathon Kid's Race category. He is such an active little guy that it made perfect sense to enter Gavin in the 100m dash for 1-3 year olds. He could not wait to wear his 'Mickey running shirt' the morning of his race. In fact, he wore it proudly all day. After some mental and instructional preparation, he was ready to run!

There were several waves for the 100m dash to ensure everyone had enough room to run. Here was the heat right before Gavin's.

Not everyone shared Gavin's enthusiasm for running. Bless her heart!

Now it was Gavin's turn. Of course, the camera died and I did not have enough time to reach for the phone's camera. However, I managed to snap this last photo right after 'Go' was announced. If you look close, my boys are on the far right with Sean wearing the bright yellow shirt. The following two photos were blown up from the first and thus the quality suffers.

Gavin was elated to receive his very own non-metal medal.
Bring on the tears, again.

We asked him to hold up 'number 1' for the camera to which he promptly said 'No. I'm two!'
Yes sweetheart, you are two years old and adorable!

Gavin must have felt the runner's high after his race ended, because he could not stop running around.

What a kid!
