Downtown Disney with Alex

Last week we had one of our best friends fly to Orlando for a business convention all the way from Washington state. Sean's parents were due in the next day but we could not miss this opportunity to see Alex. Thus we took our first trip to Orlando since we became Floridians. Alex just happened to be the catalyst for the start of hopefully many trips to Orlando.

Before meeting up with Alex, we indulged our materialistic sides at the following stores. Yeah to fueling the economy.

and
Sean and I could spend a small fortune buying up every gadget at Crate and Barrel. I dare you to shop the wall of gadgets and resist buying one. They are all just too much fun. Case in point: We bought a picnic knife in black only to learn when we got home we already had the knife in orange but just labeled as a pumpkin carving knife. Clever marketing people. They fooled us into buying the same knife in two different colors now. Good thing we never go on picnics and carve pumpkins once a year.

We decided to spend our visit with Alex walking around Downtown Disney a.k.a Mickey's playground as Gavin would say. Gavin was excited to see so much Mickey. Little did he know that in five days we would visit the Magic Kingdom with Grandma and Grandpa Miner. But he is two. Give him a break. We had a great visit with Alex but albeit it was too short. Ironically enough, we hung out with Alex last year but in a different country.

We ditched being responsible adults for one night and had a Ghirardelli brownie sundae for dinner. I was too slow to capture us eating the brownie. I was afraid if I put my spoon down the boys would eat it all before I snapped a picture. But let's just say other people sitting around us were giggling at Gavin trying to manage the gigantic spoon and ice cream.

Thanks Alex for ditching the convention set-up and hanging out with us.
We loved seeing you in Florida, but please next time bring your family.
