In the morning after our slumber party, Cara and Anna were headed to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Fair. So naturally their plans for the day became our plans for the day. Thank you ladies for letting us tag along. Wait until you see their costumes- homemade might I add. Anna was also reuniting with her college roommate Ewelina and Eewlina's fiance Matt. You will never find nicer people than Ewelina and Matt. Really, stop looking.

Gavin was intrigued with just about everything and everyone.

Luck would have it that I packed a shirt for Logan that had a knight and dragon on it.

Someone built a pretty impressive town resembling the time.

Cara and Gavin tried several hats on before we read the white sign on the shelf that read 'Please take pictures after you make your purchase.' Oops!

I could not tell who's smile was greater. One of Gavin's favorite game is chase.

During the fair, the jousting arena featured a show of falcons and owls. At one point, the announcer asked for a female volunteer with a camera. No being shy my hand shot up with my camera. Luck would have it that I got picked from the audience. The object of the demonstration was to have the owl fly toward me (over my head to announcer) so I could get a 'picture of a lifetime.' The owl just returned from a sick leave so he was still not 100% back to health yet. Sadly he did not fly on command but the announcer helped to recreate what the shot would have appeared like. Sweet and quick-thinking Ewelina used her camera phone to snap so shots of me while I was inside the arena.

The recreation shot of the flying owl.

After I returned, Gavin was trying to understand what I was doing in the arena.

Here are the shots from Ewelina's phone.
The owl is on the left, then I am sitting down on a stool with the announcer standing behind me on the right.

After the demonstration failed, the announcer brought the owl in front of me for the recreation shot. Despite the bird's lack of cooperation, the show was still witty and informative.

Gavin was eager to try his luck at the real-life maze. So to conclude the day, we finished up with this activity.

Smiles all around that day.
Thanks to Anna, Cara, Ewelina, Matt, and especially my mother for a great visit.
