Gavin's 1st Visit to Mickey's House

We finally made it to Mickey's house! We had been talking about our visit for days before we went and we are still talking about it days after. I cannot count how many times we have sung 'It's a Small World' and 'A Pirates Life for Me' in the car, while brushing our teeth, changing diapers, and just about every other activity. Gavin (and Logan too) loved the Magic Kingdom. Gavin was apprehensive about the giant characters at first but was never scared of them. It's a good thing I had sunglasses on most of the time since single tears would stream down my cheeks from Gavin's total elation and pure joy. It was such a tender mother moment for me the first time he saw Mickey in real life.

Luckily for us, there was a character show on Cinderella's stage the moment we walked into the park. Check out Gavin's button pinned to his shirt. It reads, '1st Visit' and he wore it proudly.

Waiting for our first ride: Winnie the Pooh. Overall, the lines were heavy in the morning but after the 3pm parade dwindled down significantly.

Trying to capture Gavin on his first ride. Even though it is blurry, I love how you can see Grandpa Miner on the video camera and can see Sean's smile perfectly. What was Gavin's reaction after the ride (and actually every ride that followed): Apprehensive but not scared at first, and then begging to do it again.

Dumbo was next and quite possibly had the longest line of the day.

I snuck in the exit as the previous riders were leaving to sneak this shot.

You would have thought Sean was riding by himself. It turns out they make the child sit on the inside with the adult on the outside. Still I like Sean's enthusiasm.

Parade time! We have it all on film but so many characters touched Logan's feet as they walked by. He sat there soaking it all up. Correction, both boys sat there soaking it all up. Gavin was on the ground on my lap but still enjoyed many high-fives and hand shakes.

Can you name this attraction? It has a small, catchy tune. Long but meaningless story time. We read online that 'It's a Small World' would be closed for construction while we were there. BUM-MER! Well when we arrived, it was open! We waited a long time in line only to have it close again. We received Fast Passes for any other ride that day as a condolence but I was still bummed. Several hours later, the ride opened again and we gave it another shot. Success and happiness! Both boys were in awe of the whole ride.
Hopefully this is just the start to many more visits to Walt Disney World!
