Slumber Party!

One gorgeous fall evening, my best friends from high school drove up for a slumber party. Or should we call it 'Ladies Night In?' At what age do you become too old for a slumber party? Either way I was stoked to have Cara and Anna spend the night. If you remember, Anna got stuck in traffic last time we visited up north in August so I was eager to see her.

Plans for the party of slumber: chick food, chick flick, hair braiding, and chocolate chip cookies. I was in heaven with all those females (my mother included). Normally I am surrounded by boys: of the young, younger, and not-so-young variety. I love them all dearly but sometimes you just need some female persuasion in your life. We were especially womanly that night since my mother was helping to hem some jeans of mine. Apparently I have shorter legs than most of the woman in my pant size. Mom to the rescue and Cara has her trusty hem line creator. While I modeled the jeans and documented the night, Cara measured my hem with exactness and my mother was stationed at the sewing machine. But it was Anna who was quite the baker making some scrumptious chocolate chip cookie dough then chocolate chip cookies. By the next afternoon, the whole batch had been devoured.

Once you get married and have kids, your life is not over. Thanks Cara, Anna, and mom for a great girls night. I did not realize until just now how much I needed it. Oh, and I highly recommend the movie Leap Year. I am embarrassed to admit how many times I watched it at my mother's in just one weeks time.
